Sometimes ago, I woke up feeling dry and empty. I was so weak in my body that I absolutely wished the morning will end immediately. It didn’t feel like I belonged here and I felt like sleeping on my bed without waking up again, but I remembered God wants me to live for His glory.
In my weaknesses and desperation, do you know what I did? It feels so simple, but it is true. I whispered to God in prayer and I simply said these words, “God, please help me and give me strength for the day.” I heaved a deep sigh and stayed still. I was expecting a touch, a shaking or a move, but I didn’t get any of that.
I didn’t even feel like praying, but in no time, I felt revived and ready to go through the day.
I’m sharing this with you because no matter how strong we are, we get to a point where we know our strength fails us. I believe you might have similar experience like mine or maybe you know someone who does.
In your case, you might want to lead a family member or a colleague in a prayer for strength. I specially welcome you here to share with you these samples of powerful prayer for the day for strength.
Remember, God comforts us in our troubles so that we will be able to comfort others. I assure you that your prayers are quickly answered and every plan that you have for the day would be easily accomplished with renewed strength.

My Today’s Prayer to God for Strength
1. Dear God, I felt like I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I’m feeling tired in my heart and I’m not ready to go through the day’s tasks. I need You to help me, Lord. I eagerly desire to get to work and achieve all that I have lined up for the day. Give me the courage that I need and strengthen my heart to be awake to Your love and possibilities in Jesus name.
2. In Jesus name, I don’t know what to do about my feelings this morning. I woke up not feeling too good in my body. I’m weary, Lord and my strength fails me. I understand that I can’t do anything by myself and this weakness in my body can only be settled and healed by You. Give me strength in my body right now, Lord. Help me.
3. Lord, I’m so emotionally drained right now. It affects my body and my thoughts and I feel there’s nothing beautiful about this morning. Father in Jesus name, I come before You this day and I ask that You heal my heart. Take away everything that makes me feel drained. Fill me with Your love, strength and peace. I need You to touch my life right now. Help me, Lord not to surrender to my emotional weakness in Jesus name.
4. Jesus, I believe You love me and You gave Yourself for me. You have asked me to ask for anything in Your name and You will do it. Lord Jesus, I ask for Your life giving strength in my life today. Help me to see Your face over this unexplainable weakness in my spirit this morning. I need Your strength to take the day and I ask that You strengthen my spirit, Lord. Let me be revived with supernatural strength today in Jesus name.
5. Lord, You said “they that wait on You, there strength will be renewed…” I’m at my lowest ebb right now, Lord. Please visit my spirit, soul and body and renew my strength. I wait on You this morning and I declare You as Lord of my life. Renew my strength and give me strength for the day in Jesus name. Give me answers to every hidden cry, Lord and help me remain renewed in strength today even as I wait on You.
6. Father in Jesus name, my friend is feeling weird and extremely tired today. He finds it difficult to concentrate and settle his mind for the day ahead. I ask, Lord that You will give my friend hope and faith. Help my friend to live one day at a time and every anxiety in my friends heart, let it receive Your peace and help my friend to enjoy the rest of the day.
7. Prayer for strength for this new day, Lord. To be revived and know that You are my God. To receive a fresh breath of life and all round hope to stand tall through every storm, struggle and trials. I surrender my insufficiency to You today and I ask You change me for Your glory and Your praise. Give me everything I need to be back on my feet today with strength in Jesus name.
8. Father, You have said in life, we will see tribulations, but we should be of good cheer because You have overcome the world. Today I come, Lord. I have lost my cheer and I can’t seem to find it. No matter how hard I try, I keep getting disconnected in my spirit and I don’t want to live again. I ask Lord that You will encourage my heart. Remind me Lord that You have overcome the world for me. Help me to stand firm in You and to hold on to Your unending love.

9. As I step out today, I surrender all my fears and insecurities to You, Lord. Help me! Come and take control of my fears and do not let it overwhelm me. I admit my fears and cares to You, Lord. I need Your strength to go past these feelings. I’m feeling terrible within and I need You to plead my cause. Help me Jesus and give me the grace to keep moving today and always.
10. Father, this issue in my family is giving me a hard time. I find it difficult to concentrate and it tells on my emotions and reactions to others. I’m scared I might go through the day very bitter and I know this is not of You, Lord. Please come and rescue me and deliver me from every digressing thoughts. Heal my family, Lord and give us the grace to dwell together in unity. I ask that You will strengthen us as one and take away everything that is not of You in Jesus name.
Short Prayer Points for Strength Today
1. Jesus, please keep me in Your embrace today, Lord. Should I rise or fall, I know and believe You are with me. Help me saviour to live as an overcomer today in Jesus name.
2. As I wake up to face the day with this feeling of being rejected and depressed that I have at the moment, I ask, Lord that You will give me beauty for ashes and let it be to the glory of Your name.
3. As I wait on You, Lord I ask that You renew my strength and heal me completely, Lord. You know how much I hurt and all my unsaid words are bare before You. Come and rescue me with Your strength in Jesus name.
4. As I wait on You today, Lord let my testimony be that I was greatly helped by God. Help me see Your face in every detail, Lord and have Your way in me.
5. In Jesus name, my friend needs Your strength today. It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions for my friend. Please come to my friend’s rescue and revive my friend with Your everlasting strength in Jesus name.
6. Strength is found in You and in You my hopes are renewed. I ask Father for a fresh flow of Your strength. Help my weaknesses today and give me a renewed heart filled with Your love in Jesus name.
7. You are the reason I live, Lord and You are the life that lives. Please, Lord I’m desperately weak and tired of my challenges. I ask for a touch of heaven, Lord breathe on me.
8. Thank You, Lord for always answering me when I call. I’m here again today, Lord and I ask for a divine strength. I don’t know how You will do it, but I believe You will strengthen me in Jesus name.
9. Father, please help me. I need Your help in my family and more than ever before, I need You to revive everyone of us for Your glory.
10. In Jesus name, I pray for Your grace in my family. Renew our strength individually, Lord. We are tired and we can’t keep going on with our situation, I cry out to You for Your helping hands in Jesus name.
11. Lord, it is written that we should lift up the weak hands and the feeble knees, I lift up my feeble heart to You today, Lord. Have mercy on me and heal my body. Give me strength to live today in Jesus name.
12. One day at a time, Jesus, please take my hands and let me be strengthened by You. Make my life brand new by You and let this day be filled with all of Your strength.
13. Take my weaknesses, Lord and make me new and help me live just like You today. Please clothe me with Your strength and let everything I feel this morning become a testimony to Your praise.
14. Lord, the weakness around me makes me really sick in my spirit and body. Help heal everyone, Lord. Take their pain away and grant all of their hearts desire according to Your will in Jesus name.
15. Only You can satisfy my heart. Only You can wipe my tears away. Only You can give me the life and dreams I desire. Please, Lord, help my fears and concerns today in Jesus name.
16. You are the God of all flesh and You can do what no man can do. Lord, my emotions are not difficult for You to handle. I surrender to You and I ask that You will strengthen me for the day in Jesus name.
17. You make a way even when there is no way. I ask that You will make a way for me today. Help me receive Your peace and joy for the desperation of my soul. Help me, Lord and fulfill Your will for my life today.
18. Strength for today, Lord. I come to You and I ask that You will replace the weakness and faintness in my spirit for your life. Fill me with all of You and take control of my life in Jesus name.
19. Lord, I’m tired and I feel really stranded. Grant me Your speed, Lord and help me live in rejoicing. Let me walk with Your speed and let my strength be revived by You, Lord.
20. Jesus, there’s nothing too hard for You to do. What I’m feeling now that cannot be expressed is nothing difficult in Your sight. Just a touch from You can change everything, Lord. I ask that You touch my heart and remove everything that makes me weak in Jesus name.
